My background is in commercial real estate, having become a commercial broker and syndicator in the years after graduating from the University of Connecticut, School of Business, with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Real Estate and Urban Economic Studies. Since then, I have expended my interests to include intellectual property investing in numerous patents, developing software and becoming an inventor in my own right with a number of patents issued and pending. Today, I consider myself an entrepreneur, and that’s what I tell people when they ask me what I do. My real estate ventures include development and commercial brokerage. Through one of my companies, I am a partner in a 180 unit subdivision in Vero Beach, Florida. My brokerage company specializes in land and commercial opportunities along the Treasure Coast and mobile home and RV parks nationally.
Intellectual Property (Patents)
Patents have become a major part of my business. Through my business entities, I am presently involved with 34 issued or pending patents, spread over ten ventures and portfolios. I am inventor or co-inventor on nineteen of these patents, and have two issued patents in my own name. Fields include intelligent transportation and location technologies, speech recognition, spam filtering, command and control, marketing over the Internet, retail foods, health care, consumer products and hurricane shutter panel systems.
Through my software ventures, I’m involved in two companies with a total of three enterprise solutions in speech recognition and language processing, and five consumer desktop applications in speech recognition, spam filtering and webcam software.
I have four projects pending in the publishing field. Because of time constraints in my other businesses, these projects are on the back-burner and not getting the attention they deserve. I’m seeking to partner with qualified and motivated people to move these projects along.
